Troubleshooting To Get Results From Your Search Engine Traffic

30/4/2021

"I did what you said and I'm getting 100 visitors a day from Google. But they still aren't buying my product."

Never mind that some small businesses would be deliriously happy with 3000 additional visitors a month - what do you do when the plan you had to increase your search engine traffic doesn't give you the results you want?
snapshot of google homepage
You re-evaluate your plan.

Did you target the right keyword? Are your pages ready to convert? What's your lead capture system? Do you even have one?

You'll need to ask yourself all these questions, and more, but before you even get to that, here's the thing that doesn't seem obvious, the thing you have to resolve before you can move forward.

There's some outside chance - way, way outside - that an increase in search engine traffic just isn't the right way to solve your traffic problem.

What's more likely is that you have made one of the following mistakes or oversights. Make sure that the reason your search engine traffic isn't converting is for one of the following reasons before you abandon all efforts.
1. You're trying to generate more traffic than a particular keyword can provide.
There might not be ten thousand people online looking for how to make ropes out of cheese every day. If your area is obscure, find out how much of a traffic yield you can expect from search engines, get as much of it as you can, then move on.

2. Lack of content optimization and searchability.
For every plan, you'll have to work on optimizing both your content and how it is found.
SEO
There's just no two ways about it. Depending on your site and how it delivers its information, how frequently it does so, how many sites are linking to it, and a host of other factors, whether you'll have to lean more on updating content or links, will vary.

There's no cookie cutter solution, so take all the suggested steps for traffic success.
3. You don't have a plan.
You know what they say about a failure to plan. If you don't, trust me, it ain't good. Have a goal. If you don't know what to set it on, base it on an increase in revenue. Think backwards from the increase in buyers you would need to make the kind of money you'd like.

4. You're using the wrong plan.
Not every traffic generation method you can leverage for search engine traffic is good for every site or business.

While it's true that the proper blog configuration can turn your site into a search engine magnet, that isn't the only reason to blog, and it doesn't mean that just any platform is suited to your site.

By all means, don't stop blogging because no one is reading your blog - find out why and address that problem.  It could be that they can't find it.
5- You bought into a sales pitch as a search engine traffic plan.
I'm not going to tell you that article marketing won't help your search engine traffic if executed correctly. I will, however, tell you that most people don't set it up to get the most benefit out of the process, and that it's not a search engine strategy in and of itself.

6. You're not paying attention to analytics, so you have no idea what changed and when.
Getting 100 visitors a day to a site that was getting none is a triumph. Getting 100 more visitors a day from search engines to a site that used to get 1000 search engine visitors a day? Not so much.

You need, at bare minimum, a starting place to compare to, or else how do you know you've gotten anywhere?

7 - The traffic plan is fine. Your conversion plan isn't so hot.
If Google sends you a million visitors and they land on a page full of huge banners, they'll just leave. Give every page a clear purpose, and make sure each one has the ability to get your visitors to buy, subscribe, join, or whatever you'd like them to do, right then or on another day.

These are the seven most common ways that search engine traffic can leak back out of your site. Even if one of those doesn't solve your search engine traffic problem, if you take action on each applicable point, it will at least help you get more out of your existing traffic.

We all want a piece of the pie. Why not, it's large enough to spare a chunk to you right? There's nothing wrong with wanting more than just a piece, you're an entrepreneur, you want a LARGE piece.

I want to show you how, by simply adding a few testimonials here and there, you can dramatically increase your chances of making more sales online and offline.
marketing business woman
We all want to believe that you have the best "gadget & widget" out there. We want to believe it because you said so. But the harsh reality is that we simply can't just take your word for it.

For instance, just for an example, let's use "Company Logo Design". Here is the difference between facts tell and stories sell.
Ex #1 (Facts Only)
Company Logo Design - You will get
  • 5 concepts to choose from
  • Unlimited Revisions to 1 concept
  • Cloud File (All images print ready)
  • Satisfaction Guaranteed!
All of this for $199.00 CLICK HERE

Sounds like a good service for the buck no? Not bad. Now let's see the power of adding a story to these facts.
two men shaking hands
Ex #2 (Story + Facts)
"PERFECT, that's the only word I can use when describing this company's logo design service. They not only saved me a lot of time but they also spent most of their time finding out what I wanted. In the end, they provided EXACTLY the type of logo I was looking for, thank you so much!!!!"

We are here to help you succeed and want to deliver something you're looking for, not only what our designers want to create. Get a logo you are looking for with these extra features attached:
  • 5 Concepts to choose from
  • Unlimited Revisions to 1 concept
  • Cloud file
  • YOUR SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!

Do you see the difference between the two???? In the example #1, features and price were added. In the 2nd example, not even the price was added. Even without the price, example #2 will bring in more sales than the example #1 ever will. Facts included before the pitch can radically transform perception and create "fear of loss" in the mind of potential customers.

It's all about "Fear Of Loss"
Fear of loss is a powerful tool to use. Don't tell people what they need. Have them fear the fact that if they don't have it, nothing will work out for them. A good industry to follow is in "Make-up" companies & Beauty Products. The industry has used "fear of loss" to its fullest. They consistently insert into young female minds that, if they don't use their products, they will never be as beautiful as they hope to be.

As mentioned before, we all want to believe that you have the best product out there, by simply inserting a testimonial, this will ultimately help your visitors to further believe that you do.
When promoting online, here's another given you should always consider:
People are simply sitting at a computer desk browsing through the internet. There's no personal touch to searching for services, in your visitors mind, it's only duty that should be strictly informational. Testimonials and utilizing that "fear of loss" help create a sub-conscious emotion that triggers an attachment to your company's services.

If you've accomplished this correctly, your visitor could go looking at another company for the same services but, they will likely have problems concentrating on anything else.

Around 8/10 people go with company from a gut feeling, not facts. This is a very high number to lose by simply failing to appeal to feelings instead of just facts.

I'll put it to you another way. When you look at a web design company. They may have the best price out there, but your main concern is to view their work. See their portfolio in action. Adding testimonials to each website in their portfolio would be a powerful venture for any web design company. Why do we always want to see their work? Fear of loss.
What would you feel like if you saw a portfolio that was full of sensory rich web sites that not only looked great but also functioned perfectly? Would you be excited to talk to these people at that affordable price? I know I would. On the other hand, yeah the price is right but the quality is poor. Most of us will simply move onto the next web design company.

The more you can grab someone's attention and keep them interested online, the more they will learn to like you, trust you, and call you for your services, no matter the price.
In Conclusion:
Spice up your piece of the pie by spicing up some stories and grabbing people's attention through fear of loss & success stories.

Hope this article helps you out!

Every Internet Marketer should have a KISS Website

9/4/2021

The title of this article may prompt you to think that you should have a website based off the rock band ‘KISS’. No, ‘KISS’ in this case refers to the old marketing adage ‘Keep It Simple Stupid’. It is critical to keep this marketing strategy in mind when you are creating your website.

How can you use the KISS method when creating your website? Employ the following technical and marketing strategies and you will have a KISS certified website.
desktop and webdesign
These strategies can apply to any Internet business. In addition, it doesn’t matter what your educational background is because everyone can utilize these techniques.

Your KISS strategy should encompass the following three types of websites: Branding site, Sales Letter site, and Power Squeeze Site. We will discuss each site in further detail.
Site #1 - Branding Site: The purpose of your Branding site is to brand your company, products, and/or services. This page needs to be basic so keep the number of options to a minimum. Remember, a confused mind never buys. A potential customer will leave your site in the blink of an eye if they are overwhelmed by the number of options.
monitors with websites
It is also important to note that only 1% of your customers will come from the subscription box on your branding site. Also, only 1% of your customers will come from the product page here. Therefore, the main purpose of the branding site is to create your brand.
Site #2 - Sales Letter Site: The purpose of your Sales Letter site is to get the customer to purchase your product or service. Your Sales Letter site will contain your sales letter.  You don’t want customers to leave this page because once they leave the page the chances of creating a sales conversion dramatically decrease. Therefore, don’t put in options that allow people to leave your Sales Letter site.

Site #3 - Power Squeeze Site: The purpose of the Power Squeeze site is to capture personal information from your customer. The only information you need to capture on your Power Squeeze site includes: first name, last name, and primary email address. This will allow you to start a relationship with each customer. You can always capture more personal information later.

It is also helpful to tell customers exactly what you want them to do on this page. In other words, if you want them to sign up for your customer list, so have a text that says "Just sign up here". This direction will increase sales conversions. Your Power Squeeze site is your most valuable site. You may need to tweak it often.
Take great care when creating these three sites. These sites are key to attracting and retaining valuable customers who purchase your products and services.

Secrets to Evaluating Website Performance

2/4/2021

Define clear and attainable goals
Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals. If you don't know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

Track visitation
If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven't been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.
Determine your conversion rate
However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ?00 X 100).
Conversion rate x Sales conversion
If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will become your customer.
e-commerce
However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.
Boost traffic
You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier.

You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you. In either case, after you have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regularly monitoring and adjusting your efforts to maintain high positions.
Accessibility
Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it's too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page is quickly accessible.

Copywriting
Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared towards your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.
